HIGH OF 79 AND A PRETTY PLEASANT DAY:
Not quite as cold this morning, but we do have a little bit of rain. Look for a high of 79. Humidity will not be a factor, so a trip to the Indiana State Fair today should be pretty pleasant. As our local colleges prepare to welcome students to campus, safety and security are always priority for families sending their children to school. The first thing every campus security will tell you is to get familiar with your surroundings and always be aware of who's around you. POLICE STILL ON SCENE AT MUNCIE HOME AFTER SEIZING EVIDENCE WEDNESDAY NIGHT:
Police are still on the scene at a Muncie home this Thursday morning after removing possible evidence and towing a car from the property Wednesday night. Police say the search has to do with a missing person, but they haven't released a name. Learn more about the search.
NO INJURIES, $70k WORTH OF DAMAGE IN THURSDAY MORNING HOUSE FIRE:
No injuries were reported in a vacant residence fire around 4 a.m. Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Randolph Street. The Indianapolis Fire Department had the fire under control within 25 minutes. Firefighters say both sides of the double residence were unoccupied and may be under construction. Read more here.
GEN CON RETURNS TO INDY WITH FOUR-DAY EVENT:
Gen Con returns to Indianapolis' Convention Center today for its 47th annual convention that runs through Aug. 17. Thursday through Saturday, the Exhibit Hall is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Family Fun Day on Sunday is from 10 a.m.-4 pm. 24-hour gaming takes place at the Convention Center and at area hotels during the four-day event.
