2 arrested by Excise Police in Indianapolis

Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested two men after searching a home for evidence of unlawful alcohol sales on the east side of Indianapolis Sunday evening.

Around 5:00 p.m., excise officers served a search warrant at 865 N. Gladstone Avenue after a three-week investigation into an anonymous tip that alcoholic beverages were being unlawfully sold at the residence.

Keith Webb, 51 was jailed on two preliminary counts of sale of alcohol without a permit and two preliminary counts of sale of alcohol when prohibited. Freddie Ballard, 53 was jailed on two preliminary counts of maintaining a location used for the unlawful sale of alcoholic beverages, a Level 6 felony.

Excise officers seized 142-12 oz. cans of Natural Ice beer and 18-375mL bottles of various types of liquor, along with documents and paperwork related to unlawful alcohol sales and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.

Indiana State Police ERT troopers assisted excise officers with the execution of the search warrant.
