13-Minute Meals: Beef And Romaine Stir Fry



1 pound flank steak, slice ¼ inch thick

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons minced garlic

¼ cup water

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sherry

1 teaspoon fresh ginger

2 red, yellow or orange peppers sliced

1 romaine heart, cored and sliced and chopped

1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

1 cup cooked rice (cook according to package directions) or 1 6 oz. package rice stick noodles


Combine beef, cornstarch, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.  In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium high heat.  Add beef mixture and garlic to pan and cook for 2 minutes.


Combine water, soy sauce, sugar and sherry in a medium bowl.  Add to beef mixture, and cook for 2 minutes. This will thicken your sauce in approximately 2 minutes.  Add pepper and romaine, and cook for 2 minutes.  Add rice stick noodles or rice to pan, and stir to combine.  Garnish with cilantro.
