126 face alcohol-related charges in W. Lafayette
Police have arrested 126 people on alcohol-related charges while patrolling the area near Purdue University.
Indiana State Excise Police also say in a news release that officers also cited a grocery store in West Lafayette for selling alcohol to minors over the weekend.
Among those arrested were 83 minors facing preliminary charges of illegal possession, consumption or transportation of alcohol. 35 adults were arrested on preliminary charges of providing alcohol to minors.
Officers cited Pay Less in West Lafayette on preliminary charges of sale of alcohol to a minor. The store didn't have any immediate contact Sunday.
Excise officers were in West Lafayette as part of an initiative on six college campuses: Ball State University, Butler University, University of Notre Dame, Purdue University, Indiana University-Bloomington and Indiana State University.
