Indianapolis Star sells out day after election

Updated:
Indianapolis - Hold on to Wednesday's Indianapolis Star because the historic election edition is difficult to find.

Newspaper boxes from 16th to 106th Street were empty Wednesday. Dozens of people stopped by the Star's downtown headquarters to get their hands on a copy and found that the public service counter's extra stash of papers was gone by 8:00 am.

Our news gathering partners say they increased their usual Wednesday press run by 60%, publishing about 32,000 copies of the final edition.

The Star has reprints of the edition at local Kroger stores but quantities are limited.

The Star is considering creating a commemorative package containing the Election Day edition and possibly producing a poster of the front page.
