The Positively Indiana Community Calendar promotes events and activities that are open to the general public. The calendar runs several times a day, seven days a week on Channel 13 and the SkyTrak Weather Network. Please submit entries for consideration at least two (2) weeks prior to the event.

Tuesday, September 7

Wednesday, September 8

See talented violinists from around the world.  The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis is September 20-26. For more information click here

Thursday, September 9

Enjoy the culture and food of Greece. Attend the Greek Festival September 10 & 11 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 106th Street & Shelborne Road in Carmel.  For more information click here.   

Attend Indy Peace Day on Saturday, September 11 at Riverside Park.  The event includes a parade, creation of a human peace sign and a community resource fair. For more information click here.   

Head downtown to Monument Circle on September 10 from 11am-1pm for the Colts Go Blue for United Way Day.  Help United way kick off its annual campaign and meet Colts Cheerleaders, see the Vince Lombardi trophy, enjoy live music and lunch.  For more information click here.

Friday, September 10

Visit over 300 artists booths and six stages of live entertainment.  Attend the Penrod Arts Fair on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art September 11 from 9am-5pm. For more information click here.

Experience the culture of China.  Attend the FREE Indianapolis Chinese Festival at Military Park on September 12 from Noon-8pm.

We are in need of heavy winter coats of all sizes – coats for little ones all the way to teens. If you have a winter coat that your child has outgrown, please donate it to Coats for Kids at any of the 25 Tuchman Cleaners locations throughout the Greater Indianapolis area. You can also help out by making a monetary donation to Coats for Kids. The money will be used to buy new coats. Please donate here.

Learn how to improve your finances. The Your Money Bus Tour is coming to Indianapolis. Attend one of two Free Financial Advice Clinics. On September 17 the clinic will be on Monument Circle from 10am-2pm and on September 18 it will be at the Central Library – Riley Room from 10am-2pm.

Tuesday, September 14

Do you need legal advice? On September 14 from 6-8pm call the Legal Line to talk to an attorney for free. The number to call is 317-269-2000.   

Are you in a financial crisis and need help to avoid becoming homeless? Attend Indy Resource Connect Saturday, September 25 at Washington Square Mall. This event offers legal and employment services, credit and foreclosure counseling, housing assistance and more. For more information or to volunteer to help at the event call 317-472-7631.

Honor those with Alzheimer's and help bring awareness to the disease.  Register for the Memory Walk on October 17 at the Michael Carroll Stadium at IUPUI. Registration starts at 12:30pm and the walk begins at 1:30pm. For more information click here or call 800-272-3900.

Do you have an antique or collectible you want appraised? Get it appraised Saturday, September 18 at Exit 76 Antique Mall in Edinburgh. Proceeds benefit the Lanier Mansion State Historic Site in Madison. Cost is $10 per item; three items for $25 and there is a limit of six items per person. Girls ages 3-12 can become a princess.  Attend the Miss Central Indiana Scholarship Pageant Become a Princess event on September 18th. Princesses will receive their own tiara, meet and greet contestants, have photo ops with Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen and more. Registration is $25 and is due by September 12th.
