Indianapolis - Austin Montgomery scored 20 points and Jon Avery had 17 off the bench as IUPUI beat Oakland 82-69 in a Summit League game Thursday night.
The Jaguars (14-5, 6-2) shot 64.7% from the field and 45% from 3-point range. They outrebounded Oakland 31-27 and outscored them in the paint 42-22.
While his team hustled on the court, coach Ron Hunter watched barefoot from the sidelines to raise awareness for needy children in Africa.
George Hill added 17 points and seven assists for IUPUI. Gary Patterson scored 14 and Billy Pettiford had 13.
The Golden Grizzlies shot just 42.1% from the field and 31% from 3-point range. Erik Kangas led Oakland (9-10, 4-4) with 20.
Derick Nelson had 12 and Johnathon Jones 10.
