Indianapolis - Fewer people feel safe in downtown Indianapolis compared to two years ago, according to a new survey from IUPUI.
The survey found 75 percent of people feel safe downtown during the daytime, down from 83 percent in 2005.
After dark, only 34 percent of those surveyed said they feel safe. In 2005, 44 percent felt safe downtown after dark. That's the third year in a row those numbers have gone down.
Most people in the poll said Indianapolis was a clean city that has friendly people, many attractions and quality hotels and restaurants.
