Indianapolis - Local businesses and elementary students are using their creativity to honor the Colts. They've produced two specialty items you won't find in stores.
Endangered Species Chocolates, located at 5846 W. 73rd Street, dedicated 10,000 limited-edition chocolate bars to the Colts and Indianapolis.
"It's really a time to rally together as a community. We've got the arts community pulling together. Now it's time for the business community to pull together," said Wayne Zink, CEO of Endangered Species Chocolates.
The Indy-based chocolatier uses Colts colors to make their treat - white chocolate mixed in with blueberries.
Colts fans can pick up a free Colts chocolate bar during office hours all next week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you're a jewelry collector, Mrs. Babcock's 4th and 5th grade class at Towne Meadows Elementary in Carmel has something handmade for you - a horseshoe necklace made of clay.
The students are selling the necklaces for $1 to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. So far, the class has raised more than $800. Soon the students will hit the $1,000 mark.
"The money is going to them so they can find a cure for diabetes and it's just been great," said 5th grader Lauren Fogel.
"I'm very proud of those kids," said Babcock. "They've been working at home. They've been giving up recess time to make these necklaces."
Students will be selling the necklaces at school during lunch breaks. If you would like to buy one, please call Mrs. Lisa Babcock at 317-733-2645.
