Bayh visits Afghan troops

Afghanistan - Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is in the Middle East, part of a U.S. congressional delegation assessing the situation there.

Saturday, he was in Iraq and Sunday, he, along with New York Senator Hillary Clinton, visited our military personnel at a base in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Afterward, soldiers awarded him with a flag and two certificates of appreciation.

"I will display these with pride, and they will always remind me of how proud I am that the best of Indiana is represented right here at this camp. So, I'm grateful to you. The people of our state are grateful to you. And, as long as I have the privilege of serving the six million people of our state, I'm going to do everything I can to stand with you and the success of your mission. So, God bless you all,"  Bayh said.

Senator Bayh returns to work on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
