Indianapolis - We saw all the shoppers flock to the malls for "Black Friday." On Monday they'll search for deals online. "Cyber Monday" is the electronic equivalent to Black Friday.
The Monday after Thanksgiving has become a huge online shopping day because that's when people return to work, and their work computers.
Online shopping is already up 45%, in large part because people don't want to fight the crowds.
Shopping online also allows consumers to find the best deals by comparison shopping with just a click of a mouse. There are several websites that do that for you.
Instead of driving from store to store to find the best price, check out websites like www.dealhunting.com. Pick a category, or search for a gift, and it lists the lowest price and where you'll find it. You can also get information about discounts and coupons.
Speaking of coupons, at www.couponmountain.com, you can select any number of online coupons for even the most popular items like electronics. You can also search for coupon codes.
Online holiday sales are expected to reach $27 billion in the U.S. this year. That's up 23% over last year.
While Monday is expected to be a busy day online, December 12 and 13 are the days experts predict the most money will be spent online.
