A nationwide search is underway for a Kentucky mother, her boyfriend and her ten-month-old son. Police issued an amber alert Monday night after they say the mother abducted her child. She's also suspected of killing a social worker.
Police say the baby boy, Saige Terrell, is in extreme danger, and they believe he and his mother could be headed from Kentucky into Indiana. That's why amber alert signs are encouraging drivers across our highways to be on the lookout.
Police were called Monday night after a social worker, 67-year-old Boni Frederick, didn't return to work after taking the 10-month-old boy to a non-custodial visit with his mother.
They found the social worker dead inside a Henderson, Kentucky home. Police suspect the mother, 33-year-old Renee Terrell, of killing the woman.
At the home, the 10-month-old boy, his mother and her boyfriend were missing. Police issued an amber alert for the boy.
They say he may be with his mother and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Christopher Wayne Lutrell. Police say Renee Terrell has family in Evansville and Fort Wayne. So they think she may have taken the boy into Indiana.
They also believe the mother fled in the social worker's car, which is missing.
The car is said to be a 2000 Daewoo Nubira four-door station wagon. It has a Kentucky license plate, 675 DRV.
Renee Terrell is described as five-feet five-inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds. She has brown eyes, brown hair and wears glasses.
Her son, 10-month-old Saige Terrell, is two-feet three inches tall. He weighs 19 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he's also developmentally disabled, and has a scratch on the ride side of his face and a rug burn on his neck.
Police say if you see the vehicle or the suspects, don't approach them but call police. They ask that you call 1-888-58-AMBER.
