Indianapolis, Feb. 14 - Hope you didn't forget your Valentine. It's the second busiest day of the year for florists.
It seems that despite hundreds of years of practice, men haven't evolved when it comes to Valentine's Day. You can find the proof in the usual Valentine Day destinations, just ask Jay Noel of Abbotts Choclates." Always on the last day it's men. Women have already done their shopping."
In a vial effort to avoid being labeled a louse, men are going all out this Valentine's Daym starting early in the morning as thousands of flowers arrangements are delivered and sold at retail stores.
McNamara Florists will sell thousands of bouquets, planning for this day for months, coordinating drivers and deliveries and making floral arrangements at its giant warehouse.
Valentine's Day is, of course, about romance. "The surprises my husband gives to me and the cards, treats and flowers. Things like that," says Jennifer Waybright.
Savy businesses know what women crave, and a new entry into the game of love isWhite Castle, the fast food chain famous for its mini burgers is steaming up Valentine's Day by offering candlelit dinner at eight local restaurants.
"In the 84 years we've been in business, you know there have got to be some love stories out there where, 'We met at White Castle,' stuff like that," says Cindy Johnson, a White Castle manager.
While pickles and onions will never replace long-stemmed roses, Valentine's Day always proves love comes in many flavors.
