Indianapolis, June 21 - It doesn't say it on any calendar, but this is Rupert Day in Indianapolis.
Mayor Bart Peterson issued a proclamation in honor of Rupert Bonham, the Indianapolis man who won $1 million on the CBS show Survivor.
The mayor called Bonham a credit to our city. "It is a a great honor for us in Indianapolis to claim you, Rupert, and to thank you for the wonderful publicity that you've given to our city, and more for just being the person that you are and for showing that to everybody."
Those who watched the program Survivor All-Stars voted to make Rupert the "people's champion," giving him $1 million prize.
