Brookville - A Brookville man died when his motorcycle struck a deer late Monday afternoon.
Police say Roy Miller, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 5:30 p.m. on St. Mary's Road, just south of Wolf Creek Road southwest of Brookville. Witnesses told police Miller was driving the posted 45 MPH speed limit as the road dipped. A deer ran into his path from his left and he hit the animal head-on.
Miller and his Harley-Davidson reportedly went down and skidded nearly 80 feet before coming to rest. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
