Franklin - A teenager is hospitalized and another is accused of attempted murder after a shooting Friday night in Franklin.
What police thought was a routine traffic on busy US 31 in Franklin Friday night turned into something more criminal.
Joe Dillon, Franklin police department spokesman, said "People look at Franklin as a small city, same things happen here as everywhere."
What happened Friday night was a shooting between teenagers.
"The victim actually didn't know he'd been shot," explained Dillon on Saturday.
Officers stopped a vehicle at a fast food restaurant on Morton for not having headlights on when a 15-year old ran out of the car telling police he'd been shot.
Dillon said, "The shot went back through the back windshield of the vehicle, through the hooded sweatshirt and into the victim's head."
About the time they made the car stop another car carrying the two suspects, drove past
and police quickly arrested a 16-year old passenger and the driver--18-year old Jon Armor.
The 16-year old suspect told police the shooting was over an argument he'd had with the victim in the CVS parking lot just down the street.
"They met to do some type of transaction believe it was drug-related, some drugs were recovered," said Dillon.
The 15-year old and another teen took off in the car and police say the 16 year old fired one shot with Armor's gun.
Dillon says, "A one in a million shot."
The shooting although late at night happened in a busy part of town. Police say not only is the victim lucky to have survived, it's also fortunate no one else was hurt.
