Police released a sketch of the suspect.Bloomington - Indiana University police are investigating a reported rape near campus Saturday evening.
The 20-year-old female victim, who police say was not an IU student, said she was in the Red Lot with her family before the IU-Purdue football game. She later became separated from her family and friends and asked a male subject if he knew their location. Police say he told the woman her friends were at a party at a house in the 1200 block of Woodlawn Avenue, near the Red Lot.
When the woman followed him to the home, he said her friends were in the basement, pulled her down the stairs and sexually assaulted her. The woman told police she immediately ran from the room and called her friend to pick her up.
Police were able to determine the exact location of the house and collected additional evidence of the crime. The residents of the house are not suspects in the crime and police say they have been cooperating with the investigation.
Police are looking for a white male around 20 years old with brown hair in a buzz cut, who was wearing a Purdue jacket, though he stated he was not a Purdue student. Police say his first name may be "Ron" and his last name might begin with an "L."
The suspect is not an IU student and police hope to confirm his identity in the coming days so the victim can pursue criminal charges.
If anyone believes that they have information about the incident, they are asked to contact IU Police at (812)855-4111 and asked to speak to an investigator or Shift Commander.
