Michigan City - The Indiana Parole Board has canceled its review of the death sentence faced by a man convicted of the 1994 slayings of his estranged wife and two of her relatives in Evansville.
State prison officials say that attorneys for 49-year-old Matthew Eric Wrinkles notified the Parole Board on Monday that he was waiving his right to request clemency from Gov. Mitch Daniels.
Wrinkles' execution is set for Dec. 11 at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City. He has exhausted his appeals in state and federal courts, although the Parole Board could have recommended whether the governor should block the execution.
Wrinkles was convicted of breaking into his brother-in-law's home and killing his wife, her brother and his wife.
