
Jimmie Ernest Jones Jr.Hamilton County - A man faces charges in connection with the death of Andrew Takash Jr.
Takash, 53, was found dead in his Central Ave. home October 1st. His 2008 Chevy Cobalt, which was missing from his residence, was found a few days later at a Kokomo Mall.
Police arrested Jimmie Ernest Jones Jr. on charges of murder, auto theft (class D felony), theft (class D felony) and habitual offender.
Police say Takash's neighbor told investigators that her boyfriend, Jimmie Ernest Jones Jr., had gone to Takash's home on Monday, September 28th, and had not returned home.
An autopsy was performed on Mr. Takash and it was determined that he had been strangled.
Police say Jones had ties to Kokomo, where Takash's vehicle was found. Police found Jones at a home in Kokomo on Oct. 2 and held him on a probation violation. Officers served him with a search warrant and physical evidence was sent to the Indiana State Police crime lab for testing. Investigators received confirmation from the crime lab implicating Mr. Jones in the homicide, according to police.
Mr. Jones is being held without bond and will be arraigned Thursday.
