WTHR Cares about our community. As Central Indiana's News Leader, we want to respond immediately to emergency needs in our community or around the globe. That's why we have joined forces with community partners to form a new
WTHR Cares Emergency Response partnership. Our partners are
Kroger,
St. Vincent Health, the
Forum Credit Union,
WFMS, and the
American Red Cross. If there is an emergency, to which Central Indiana wants to respond locally, nationally, or internationally, we will join forces to be a conduit for Hoosier generosity.
In 2012, we launched our first
WTHR Cares Emergency Response with the
WTHR Cares Hoosier Tornado Relief Drive for southern Indiana tornado victims. With donation sites at Kroger, the Forum Credit Union, a WTHR phone bank, and our station parking lot - and with Hoosier compassion - we collected more than $676,000 for the American Red Cross.
We stand ready to respond to future emergencies with your help. Kroger and the Forum Credit Union will continue to be collection sites for monetary donations. St. Vincent Health will offer medical expertise and medical response, if necessary, based on the emergency. The American Red Cross will keep us apprised of emergencies to which it is responding, so that we can react when needed. And WFMS will join WTHR in promoting emergency relief efforts and sharing compelling stories of people in need.
WTHR Cares and, with our community partners, we are working to serve you.
It's leadership in action.
